The Orlando Magic 2019 – 2020 season is finally here, and the team is already off to a great start. Coming off a home win against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Magic won by nine points, with the final score of 85–94.

Breakdown of the Magic v. Cavs game

Led by all-star Nikola Vucevic with his 21-points and nine rebounds, as well as Evan Fournier with his 16-points has kept the team in the lead throughout the game. This was pretty evident by the end of the first half by how the Magic led by 14-points, 41–55. While the Cavs were able to score more than the Magic in the second half, it wasn’t enough for the opponents to win in the end.

While there was concern during the pre-season about how the Magic had minor issues to work out, such as being consistent defensively and overcoming injuries, just to name a few, it’s clear that the team appears to be ready for the new season.

Markelle Fultz

Another thing that NBA fans have recently noted was how well Markelle Fultz was during the past game, while Fultz did not put up numbers that of LeBron, he was still effective in his role as point guard. Not to mention Fultz was able to contribute 12 points and three rebounds by the end of the game, which is something that many Magic fans should be excited about.

Also, the fact that Fultz was effective when dishing the ball out to other players for open shots, is another positive thing that happened during the game. Towards the end of the game during the fourth quarter, Fultz was able to go coast-to-coast and throw down a dunk.

Next Magic game

The Magic will head to Atlanta in the team’s first away game, catch the Magic v. Hawks, Saturday 7:30 p.m.

My name is Jonathan David and I am from a small town called Green Cove Springs, located in northeast Florida. Originally from Miami, Florida, my family moved up north, as I was entering the fourth grade. Once we moved, I eventually started getting into sports a lot more. I did soccer, basketball and running and pole-vaulting; however, the main sport that I pretty much keep up with is, basketball, specifically the NBA. Although I’ll occasionally watch track and field if it’s on ESPN. There were many reasons why I got into basketball, besides it looking like fun, one reason was because I wanted to be like Bugs Bunny from Space Jam, not Michael Jordan, but Bugs Bunny, and while my dream of being an animated character hasn’t panned out, I still enjoy playing and watching the sport. My favorite NBA team is the Orlando Magic, and I’ve been a fan since Lebron was in Miami, so when they eventually get good, people can’t say I’m a bandwagon fan.
