The recent game against the Toronto Raptors was a difficult one for the Orlando Magic. For starters, there were too many things going against the team. Shots not sinking, playing horrid defense and questionable calls from the referees.

Obviously, after the loss to the Atlanta Hawks last Saturday, 99 – 103, the Magic were looking to shake off whatever shortcomings that happened the last game and find a way to win again.

Of course that didn’t happen, due to an inconsistency behind the three-point line as well as not playing better defense. The defending champions came to play as both Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam scored 26 and 24 respectively.

Magic big man, Nikola Vucevic only scored 5 points for the entire game, and Aaron Gordon only made one bucket. Now it’s understandable that off nights happen, however, a game like that from two of your primary scorers is concerning to say the least.

During the post-game interviews in the locker room, Vucevic spoke with reporters about his lackluster performance.

“Keep working on my game, that’s it, there’s no secret to it”, said Vucevic. “I mean I’m not worried about it, because I know I’ll snap out of it. Tomorrow I’ll go to the gym get shots up, work on my game a little bit, and we’re ready for New York. It just takes a few shots to go in.”

While this was an upsetting loss, there were a few upsides to the game: Markelle Fultz is starting to play more minutes, which translated to him contributing 13 points, and Jonathan Isaac scored 24 points, a career high for the forward.

Isaac expressed his views on the situation regarding his career high.

“It’s all about the win, I couldn’t care less about that,” said Isaac. “I want to win and I want this team to win, so it’s about getting back to the drawing board and see what we can do better to win this game coming home.”

The Magic have had a rough start to begin this road trip, hopefully the team will be able to win its upcoming game against the New York Knicks.

The Magic will play a home game against the Knicks, Wednesday at 7 p.m.

My name is Jonathan David and I am from a small town called Green Cove Springs, located in northeast Florida. Originally from Miami, Florida, my family moved up north, as I was entering the fourth grade. Once we moved, I eventually started getting into sports a lot more. I did soccer, basketball and running and pole-vaulting; however, the main sport that I pretty much keep up with is, basketball, specifically the NBA. Although I’ll occasionally watch track and field if it’s on ESPN. There were many reasons why I got into basketball, besides it looking like fun, one reason was because I wanted to be like Bugs Bunny from Space Jam, not Michael Jordan, but Bugs Bunny, and while my dream of being an animated character hasn’t panned out, I still enjoy playing and watching the sport. My favorite NBA team is the Orlando Magic, and I’ve been a fan since Lebron was in Miami, so when they eventually get good, people can’t say I’m a bandwagon fan.
